Hest Bank United Reformed Church

Day Out to Fell Foot and Gummers' How - 13th June

We are proposing to have a church outing to Fell Foot park, where we shall have a picnic and barbeque. This will be suitable for all ages and levels of fitness. Fell Foot is a beautiful National Trust park in the Southern Lakes. Its suitable for having a gentle stroll, sitting by the lake, taking a boat trip across to Lakeside, or playing on the childrens playground, or even den building. Theres a caf for those who would like a bit of indoor comfort.

For those who are of a more energetic tendency, we propose to walk up Gummers How prior to the picnic. We shall park in the car park up the hill from Fell Foot, and the walk is a bit less than a mile to the top, over rough ground, and across the odd stream, suitable for young children who generally find it quite exciting.

We shall meet at the car park up the hill at about 10.30, hoping to complete the walk by noon, when we shall drive down to the National Trust car park in Fell Foot to meet less energetic members and all picnic together. Please bring food and sausages or whatever you would like to barbeque.

We can arrange car shares nearer the time. There will be a lift for anyone who would like to go but doesnt have their own transport.
